Dr. Charles Hsu
Dr. Hsu is the Founder and Chairman of eMemory Technology. The company was established in the year 2000 and has become the world's largest pure-play developer and provider of logic-based non-volatile memory (Logic NVM) technology under the leadership of Dr. Hsu.
Dr. Hsu graduated from the Electrical Engineering Department of Tsing Hua University, Taiwan before he went to study at the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Illinois and obtained his Ph.D. in 1987. He joined the IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY, as a researcher in the same year.
In 1992, Dr. Hsu was invited home by his alma mater Tsing Hua University and returned to Taiwan as an Associate Professor of the Electrical Engineering Department. He was promoted to Professor four years later and served as a rector of the Innovation Incubator Center in the university, and as well as the Director of Tze-Chiang Foundation of Science and Technology (TCFST). Dr. Hsu was assigned as the Head of the Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering of National Tsing Hua University in 1998.
Dr. Hsu was honored as an outstanding alumnus of Tsing Hua University Taiwan, a winner of the Gold Medal of National Invention Award and is a distinguished researcher in the Ministry of Science and Technology. With more than 200 patents, he specializes in Semiconductor, PUF (Physical Unclonable Function) and Security related fields.
