Dr. Charles Hsu
Dr. Hsu is Founder and Chairman of eMemory Technology. The company was established in the year 2000 and now becomes the world's largest pure-play developer and provider of logic-based non-volatile memory (Logic NVM) technology under the leadership of Dr. Hsu.
Dr. Hsu graduated from Electrical Engineering Department of Tsing Hua University Taiwan before he went to study at Electrical Engineering Department of University of Illinois and obtained his Ph.D. in 1987. He joined IBM T. J. Watson Research Center in Yorktown Heights, NY as a researcher in the same year.
In 1992, Dr. Hsu was invited by his alma mater of Tsing Hua University and returned to Taiwan as an Associate Professor of Electrical Engineering Department. He was promoted to Professor four years later and served as a rector of Innovation Incubator Center in the university, and as well as Director of Tze-Chiang Foundation of Science and Technology (TCFST). Dr. Hsu was assigned as Head of Graduate Institute of Electronics Engineering National Tsing Hua University in 1998.
Dr. Hsu was honored as an outstanding alumnus of Tsing Hua University Taiwan, a winner of Gold Medal of National Invention Award and a distinguished researcher in the Ministry of Science and Technology. With more than 200 patents, he specializes in Semiconductor, PUF (Physical Unclonable Function) and Security related fields.
