1. WalletConnect
A hardware wallet, also known as a cold wallet, is a popular option for securely storing cryptocurrency assets. One such hardware wallet is the SecuX, which offers a mobile app that allows users to access many popular DeFi apps using the funds they own in their SecuX hardware wallet.
One key feature of the SecuX mobile app is its integration with WalletConnect, an open-source protocol that enables decentralised applications to connect with wallets using QR code scanning or deep linking. This means that SecuX hardware wallet users can easily connect to and access a wide variety of decentralised applications with various functions, including trading, staking, swapping, gaming, social networking, borrowing, and lending.
For example, if you’re interested in trading NFTs on Opensea, you’ll need to have sufficient ETH in your wallet to cover the purchasing or listing fees, as well as the gas fee required to complete the transaction. With the SecuX mobile app and WalletConnect, you can easily pay for these fees using the funds in your SecuX hardware wallet, without the need for any additional transfers.
It’s worth noting that only a handful of hardware wallets currently support WalletConnect, making the SecuX mobile app a great option for those looking to connect with a wide range of decentralised applications. By using a crypto wallet like the SecuX, you can ensure the security of your crypto assets while also enjoying the flexibility and convenience of accessing a range of DeFi apps.
2. Binance Smart Chain (BSC) and BEP-20 tokens
BEP-20 is a Binance Smart Chain token standard owned by the Binance Organization, and together with ERC-20 standard which is owned by and created on the Ethereum Foundation, are the two most popular standards preferred by developers to create compatible and interoperable tokens. The BEP-20 standard was derived from, and is compatible with the ERC-20 standard. The modifications BEP-20 had done were to improve the existing ERC-20 protocol, optimize speed and transaction cost. In other words, BEP-20 tokens offer a faster, cheaper and compatible solution for DeFi-apps users when the Ethereum network has become increasingly congested and resulted in delayed transaction confirmation and high gas fees. Currently on the market there are 12 wallets in total that support BSC, and only 3 of them are hardware wallets.
3. Cardano (ADA)
Cardano is a decentralized third-generation proof-of-stake blockchain and smart contract platform which considers itself as an updated version of the second-generation Ethereum. Its main applications are in identity management and product traceability, with the cryptocurrency called ADA. Year-to-date (YTD), ADA is up over 630% and its price is currently shy of $1.60. ADA’s market capitalization (cap) of $45 billion puts it among the top ten cryptos. SecuX wallets will support the receiving, sending and staking functions for ADA.
