Restore an Existing Wallet

 

This tutorial will walk you through how to restore an existing crypto wallet on Shield BIO. You can only use the restore wallet option if you have a recovery seed phrase backup that can enable access to the existing wallet.

  1. Charge the device for at least 2 hours prior to setup.
  2. Plan 30 minutes of your time.
  3. Have the recovery seed phrase to your existing wallet at hand. Please note that the recovery seed phrase must be compatible to the BIP 32, BIP 39, and BIP44 standard software or hardware wallets.

1. Press and hold the Power Button (↓) for at least 2 seconds.

2. Release the Power Button (↓) when the screen turns on.

 

NOTE

• It is recommended to keep your Shield BIO charging in the charging dock during setup.

3. Follow the instructions on the device screen to use the Device Buttons and Fingerprint Pad.

PIN Setup

 

1. Press Fingerprint Pad to start setting up a 4-8 digit PIN number.

1-1 Use the Up (↑) and Down (↓) Buttons to select the desired number.

1-2 Press Fingerprint Pad to confirm and continue to select the next number.

1-3 To complete, use the Up (↑) and Down (↓) Buttons to navigate to the "✔️" checkmark option on the screen. For example, to set a 4-digit PIN, select "✔️" on the fifth digit to finish PIN setup.

NOTE

• During each number entry, you can select This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is Backspace.svgto go back.

• Opt for an 8-digit PIN for enhanced security.

• Avoid using simple number sequences or repeated number sequences like 1234 or 0000.

• Do NOT select significant dates like birth year or family member's birthday as a PIN code.

 

2. Once you’ve set up your PIN code, enter it again to confirm.

1. Navigate to Restore Wallet and press Fingerprint Pad to restore an existing wallet.

2. Carefully check the information displayed on the screen. To acknowledge that you understand the importance of entering your recovery seed phrase in the correct order, press the Fingerprint Pad to confirm.

3. Navigate to select the number of your 24, 18 or 12-word recovery seed phrase using the Up (↑) and Down (↓) Buttons, then press the Fingerprint Pad to confirm.

4. Use the Up (↑) and Down (↓) Buttons to select the 1st alphabet of the 1st word and press the Fingerprint Pad to confirm.

5. Repeat the same steps to select the next alphabet of the 1st word.

NOTE

6. After completing the entry of the 1st word of your recovery seed phrase, navigate to the "✔️" checkmark option on the screen, then press the Fingerprint Pad to confirm and proceed to the next word.

1. When you finish entering the last word of your recovery seed phrase, navigate to the "✔️" checkmark option to confirm. Then press the Fingerprint Pad to complete setup.

2. Your wallet is now restored and ready to use.
